Created four years ago, the NORMES group (successor to a previous multidisciplinary research collective, LIGC, focused on logic, computer science, philosophy and their interactions with other fields) has aimed to foster transdisciplinary and philosophical reflection on the many contemporary interactions between computer science, logic, and law (as well as the theoretical foundations of these interactions). Three previous editions have been organized:

The scientific committee for the Bologna workshop has proposed the following general theme for the 2026 meeting: “Norming normes/Normare le norme/Normer les normes”. Behind this title—which is quite abstract and may appear somewhat narrow or restrictive—the goal is to stimulate reflection through diverse and open perspectives on the interfaces between computer science, logic, and law. This encompasses argumentation and formalization, the use or role of logic and computer science (broadly defined, including AI) in legal theory, and even computer science as a subject of law itself.
